Catching up with documenting of this journey. I guess the update is still the same. Practice continues to look different these days and evolves from being only physical. Countless teachers would speak of it but only a decade later I'm grasping the true meaning of their words. This challenge started as an effort to stay with a self commitment. This book that I owned since 2015 and never read fully, was my guide to explore the sutras in a western short and sweet way, plus it was just perfect since it's broken down in 365 days. Another idea of mine to explore some new poses and get some cool shots of myself and things around me that inspire me. On week 12, I came across another book, this one was taking me back to 2014 and was half completed it. You know how they recommend to pick a service based on what the person who provides it looks like. Sure, it's not a golden rule by any means but if I see a trainer who is in the shape I want to have, I would be more prone to listen to her/him. Naturally, hard sweat inducing workouts three times a week on top of two cardio days just took over my energy commitment leaving me with the mediation book and occasional asana practice. And surprisingly, I'm ok with it, certainly not ashamed and don't feel like I cheated. I see it as a detour but I'm still on that path. This phrase really hit it home this week. "We learn to be calm and still in action, vibrantly alive in stillness."
