Lucky 13! Yama-chan is helping me to announce that I added another element to my challenge. This is my numerous attempt to BBG - a workout plan by an Australian fitness coach Kayla Itsiness. This time around it's different. I feel stronger and more confident. The program still kicks my butt with 40 burpees, triceps dips, countless jumps during three 30 min weekly workouts. On top of that I continue with my early morning runs once or twice a week. Yoga has faded into the background last week but I'm finding new ways to spice up my personal practice and teachings.
This week I've been focusing on self-study topic while reading my meditation book. And during one of the runs a podcast by brain coach Jim Kwik came up. He was talking about the decision making and a tool that can come handy with the anxiety we sometimes feel. He suggests we run our points by mighty 6 hats. First he suggests we put a WHITE hat. It's a logical mind set, pure facts, analytical mindset - think scientist to help you remember. Take it off and try on a RED hat. This one represents your feelings and emotions. How do you feel if you choose one or another? As a quick cheat sheet, think heart. The thirds hat that is offered is YELLOW. When we wear it, we are encouraged to think all the positive outcomes that may come out of it, what is the BEST case scenario? You may think of the sun for this one. Cool. Next one up is BLACK. How about the worst case scenario - try be the judge. Then comes in a bring GREEN hat. It stands for all the possibilities, growth and development opportunities that can come to life based on your decision, just like grass. Lastly, the sixth hat is BLUE and while we wear it, we can know look back at all the information we were able to get from the other hats and make a constructive, well informed decision. I'll be testing this method with a big decision that is coming up this fall but want to also run it for some smaller, less impactful decisions. I want to hear if you try it and if you found it helpful!
