Ever since I remember myself I always felt bitter sweet about summer going by so fast. There is this Russian song that comes to mind that captures my mood - Summer is a little life. Everything is just more vibrant this time of year: from nature to events, people are nicer, kids are on summer break and the rest of us take vacations or go exploring. In my own universe summer would never end.

June brought some rain which also aided in watermelons being exquisitely sweet just in time for some minty chill tequila cocktails. JA market is my favorite spot with a giant one for 2700 yen and a slightly smaller one the following weekend at 2500 yen. The gardens across Japan are filled with stunning colorful flowers. If you can spare 500 yen, I would suggest to visit some that are being tended to by gardeners and they are just breathtaking.

This week has been overall rather funky for me and maybe you too can relate. Nothing was really working well, appointments and plans would fall through, animals were misbehaving, with "fires" popping up here and there, little time to focus and things stocking up. I'm really glad it's over. Here is a good laugh for you. After I got gas today - I rolled away with a gas pump. It automatically disconnected but what a face palm moment that was. Embarrassing yet now I know that it can happen in real life and not just the movies!!!
