This week my Meditation book wrapped up the Yamas or Life Ethics/Universal Vows. There are 5. The first is AHIMSA - non-harming or love. I interpret it as love and care for my own body and mind, but also as a way to be mindful of the harm my actions or choices can bring on others. The second on the list is SATYA - truthfulness, something that always causes a big discussion. The third one is ASTEYA - non-stealing and it can be interpreted literally as us taking something that isn't ours to unintentionally stealing someone's time or mindlessly taking a pen that was lent to us. BRAHMACHARYA is moderation, it starts with our diet and amount of food we consume, cloths we buy, or shows we binge watch. Number five was always harder for me to grasp - APARIGRAHA or non-attachement. A question is - what is truly ours? That pair of leggings? How will I feel if I loose it or when it comes down to its end of life or when it's my turn?

These are very complex topics, not easy but universal and important to discuss.

On a lighter note, cucumbers are growing, kimchi meatballs were a big hit and I'm really fond of how my office is evolving - with my beloved self-made macrame piece and a new sloth painting - a beutiful gift from my wonderful mother-in-law.
