#365daysofyoga WEEK 2

Week two flew by and reflecting back upon it I can confirm that it's true what they say about the habit sticking in after fourteen days. Maybe partially due to the quarantine life it's now my second nature to find time for the yoga practice and I tend to really crave it first thing in the morning. You know what, I can sincerely say that I feel so much better after even 20-30 minutes of being on my mat. What surprised me the most so far was how I am softening and learning to accept myself a bit more. Picture it. I set the camera on 10 second interval and 100 pictures fire up during my practice. I most certainly get to see a lot of angles, some are more flattering than others. Observing my facial expressions, occasional double chin, new wrinkles, moments of grace or straight up failure, beautiful lines and imperfections - it's all very revealing and I feel like I'm getting to know myself on the outside some more. Oh, and I can humbly say that I need a hair appointment probably as badly as most of you do!

Today I celebrate a small victory of "stickwithit'ness" of working with my mind, gently letting it know that this is ME.

I'll leave you with the Buddhist saying from the "Meditation from the Mat" book that I took on this 365 days journey with me. It goes: "What we resist persists."
