September (Slothful Yoga) Playlist

Music is amazing! I think we can all agree with that. It has the power to give us energy and improve our mood, relax us and uplift the spirit, guide us through grief and allow us to release our feelings, it helps us to stay motivated and face life with optimism. Whatever you need - music has got it!

As a yoga teacher I experienced first hand how time consuming it can be to create a new playlist. I've spent hours at times researching for new songs and synching them together in a sequence.

Most of the time, it's a magical artistic experience. It's an incredible feeling when at the bottom of the list you see the exact number of minutes that you need for the class. It's an incomparable sensation when I feel as one with the beat... when the warm up music is right and builds up the pace, when the peak is high and strong and then you wind down just in time for a sweet long Savasana.

However, there are also times when I feel uninspired. When life gets too busy. That's when I instinctively reach out to others and it always helped me to find the right music that would once again strum the strings of my soul.

This playlist has been in my drafts since last September. Technically, I can wait but right now feels right. Sam Smith is playing on repeat in my room. His voice will grace my next playlist but for today... Enjoy this 60 min for whatever mindful movement you find for yourself!
